Kohanaiki Properties for Sale

Kohanaiki is a gated, private equity club and residential community located along 1.5 miles of shoreline on the North Kona Coast. The community takes its name from the traditional land division it occupies, the Kohanaiki ahupua`a, which sweeps from the ocean up the slopes of Hualālai.

The 450-acre community is structured around membership; homeowners, their children and grandchildren can enjoy the wealth of amenities provided by the club. Memberships are transferable and inheritable.

Owners may purchase an estate lot and design and build a custom home or select from a range of beautiful move-in ready homes . While deciding which option is best, or perhaps while in the process of building a home, Kohanaiki offers Hale Club memberships. The Hale Club consists of 17 freestanding, turnkey luxury homes, ranging in size from 1-4 bedrooms. While staying at the Hale Club, members may use all the amenities of the Club at no cost.

And the amenities are extensive. An 18-hole Rees Jones golf course winds through more than 100 acres of lava flows and around 200 anchialine ponds. The course includes six ocean holes and three air-conditioned comfort stations, well stocked with refreshments. It’s Hawai`i’s only Audubon International Silver Certified course, recognized for its water conservation, preservation of native wildlife and vegetation.

Members of all ages enjoy the 67,000-square-foot clubhouse with its bowling alley, games and billiard room, restaurant, spa, locker rooms, state-of-the-art fitness center and movement room, 50-meter lap pool, cigar and poker and wine tasting rooms. The Beach Club with its pools, the oceanfront Beach Bar, the Adventure Team, which lead members on ocean and land activities, and an organic community farm are other popular amenities. Relaxed and sophisticated dining, and an extensive wine cellar, are available at the Clubhouse and at the Beach Restaurant.

The culture and history of Kohanaiki has been carefully preserved and the community is the modern caretaker of the land and the shoreline. Two historic trails the Ala Māmalahoa, and Ala Kahakai, run through the community. Fourteen historic Ahu (ancient rock shrines) have been reconstructed and preserved. Some of them have been incorporated into the development of the front row estate sites.
